Our Story

Generations serving generations.

Funding Source is a residential and investment mortgage broker that thrived across a 27-year rollercoaster of real estate market cycles.

As a testament to our longevity, we now serve our third generation of family clients, including many who’ve made the journey from starter home through investment portfolio.

Same with our leadership. Founded by CEO Mendel Klagsbrun, the company remains a family business, with the second (and soon, third) generation perpetuating our values.

It took us constant self-reinvention to stay this competitive, this long. But some things never changed. And those bring us the most pride.

Humble Beginnings
We started with big dreams but miniature realities: a basement home office located in the center of Monsey, NY, 10952.
Growth Spurt
By 2001 we weighed in at 18 members strong, finally moving to a formal corporate location at 166 NY Route 59.
Huge, Tiny, Huge
At 19-25 Robert Pitt, we rubber-banded with markets: growing (‘05), shrinking (‘08), and growing (2012) our office once more.
Owner Occupied
Since 2021, our nearly 50 employees have called 747 Chestnut Ridge home, in the remodeled office building we own.
